Las Vegas for Brits

Anyone who knows anything about the Las Vegas Strip will know that it is home to a huge pyramid. Luxor is that pyramid.

Not all of the rooms are actually inside the pyramid, some are in a normal looking hotel tower behind (these rooms are actually considered to be better than those in the pyramid, with some have great ‘pyramid view’ rooms). If you have your heart set on one of the slanty windowed rooms make sure you ask for one when booking.

The Luxor has a very strange atrium (the large space inside the middle of the pyramid) which you will either love or hate. Personally I’m not a fan – it feels too big, too empty and lacks a bit of atmosphere but it is absolutely worth a visit, even if you aren’t staying at the hotel.

The Luxor casino seems to have fallen out of favour recently, most probably as the whole complex is overdue a refurb, On the plus side it does mean that it’s possible to pick up some excellent special offers for rooms.
