Bodies. The Exhibition:

Based at Luxor hotel/casino. It has real preserved bodies and organs to showcase human anatomy. Admission is $32 and it is open 10am – 10pm. It is also included on the 3 attractions for $57 ticket. Other options on this ticket are Titanic Exhibition, CSI at MGM Grand, New York New York rollercoaster, Siegfried and Roy’s secret garden and dolphin habitat, an all day wristband at Adventuredome Circus Circus and the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay. Sightseeing bus:

There is a sightseeing bus available in Las Vegas, but it is pretty pricey and you can get most places on the bus route on the excellent Deuce bus network (see buses section in transport). However, if you would like to use the hop on, hop off, it is run by the Big Bus company. For $38 a head you get a second consecutive day for free (to get this offer you must book on their website, see link below). The first bus is at 10am and a full circuit takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. They also run a night bus tour, but you need a separate ticket for this.

The Mirage-Dolphin Habitat

Siegfried and Roy’s secret garden and dolphin habitat:

Located at The Mirage, this is a small animal habitat out near the hotel’s swimming pool. They have white lions, white tigers, panthers, leopards and dolphins. The price is $15 for an adult and $11 for a child aged 4-12. The ticket is valid all day so you can come and go as you please. It is also included on the 3 attractions for $57 ticket. Shooting/Gun ranges:

A bit of novelty entertainment for British people. There are a number of gun ranges scattered around Las Vegas where you can book a session of shooting different guns. Anything from hand guns to machine guns. Package prices vary according to which guns you want to shoot and how many times. There are packages available for men, women and even children…! CSI: The experience:

An interactive exhibition at MGM Grand. You play the role of the crime scene investigator for one of 3 murder scenarios. It is suitable for ages 12+. Tickets cost $28. It is open 9am – 9pm. It is also included on the 3 attractions for $57 ticket. Indoor Skydiving:

A simulated skydiving experience in an indoor windtunnel…! The tunnel has a mesh trampoline floor and padded walls. They are open everyday from 9:45am – 8pm. Online reservations are available. It costs $75 a head, or $350 for a group of up to 5 (if booking a group you get a free DVD of your dive).

Titanic artefact exhibition:

Over 250 artefacts from the wreckage are available to view at this exhibition at the Luxor. Tickets cost $32. Children aged 4-12 are $24. The exhibition is open 10am – 10pm.

Stratosphere rides:

There are 4 completely mental rides at the top of the Stratosphere tower. Skyjump, Insanity, X-Scream and Big Shot.

Skyjump is a bungee jump from the 108th floor. Skyjump is $89.99 for Stratosphere hotel guests and $109.99 for everyone else.

Insanity is a mechanical arm which swings you 64 feet out from the tower, and also face down.. To ride insanity you must purchase tower admission plus one ride ticket for $24. Alternatively you can purchase an unlimited ride day ticket for $34 which is valid for Insanity, X-Scream and Big Shot.

X-Scream is a rollercoaster train that falls forward over the edge of the Stratosphere and holds you 27 feet over the edge… more than once. To ride X-Scream you must purchase tower admission plus one ride ticket for $24. Alternatively you can purchase an unlimited ride day ticket for $34 which is valid for Insanity, X-Scream and Big Shot.

Big Shot is a ride that shoots up 160 feet in the air above the Stratosphere tower and back down again at 45 miles an hour. To ride Big Shot you must purchase tower admission plus one ride ticket for $24. Alternatively you can purchase an unlimited ride day ticket for $34 which is valid for Insanity, X-Scream and Big Shot.

Bellagio Conservatory:

Bellagio prepare their conservatory as a beautiful botanical garden with a different theme for each season. Entrance is free and it is located just behind check in at the main entrance.

The Linq – High Roller:

The World’s tallest observation wheel (bigger than our own London eye). The wheel is situated in The Linq area which is between The Quad and The Flamingo. It takes 30 minutes to ride a full circuit of the wheel.

Bellagio Gallery of fine arts:

The gallery of fine art hosts travelling exhibitions that change regularly. Please see Bellagio’s website for details of the current exhibition.  $16 for adults. Children aged 12 and under are free. The gallery is open 10am – 7pm

Neon Museum:

The Neon Museum – sometimes known as the Neon boneyard – is where all the old neon signs of Las Vegas are taken. You can get a guided tour of the boneyard, both during the day and also at night when some of the signs are illuminated. The Neon Museum is downtown.

Tours are available 7 days a week and last an hour. There is a free parking garage next to the museum. Reservations are recommended through the museum’s website – http://www.neonmuseum.org/

Tickets are $18 for a day tour and $25 for a night tour and the tour is suitable for ages 10 and up during the day and 12 and up at night.

Shark Reef Tunnel

Mandalay Bay Shark Reef:

The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay houses 2,000 animals in 1.6 million gallons of water. It is open 10am – 8pm on Sunday – Thursday and 10am – 10pm Saturday and Sunday. $18 for adults and $12 for 5 – 12 year olds.

Animal encounters at Shark Reef. Shark Reef also offers special programmes. Stingray encounter is $50 per adult and $40 per child and starts at 9:15am daily. You get to enter the aquarium before it is open to the public and get a guided tour of all the exhibits. Afterwards you will feed the stingrays and receive photos of the experience.

Sea Turtle Feed – $70 per person, only available to people over the age of 13. The price includes entrance to the aquarium and participation in a feeding session of the Sea Turtles. Held Sunday – Friday at 12:45pm.

Shark Feed – $70 per person, over 13s only. The price includes The price includes entrance to the aquarium and participation in a feeding session of the aquarium’s Zebra sharks. You will also be able to watch the feeding of other shark species taking place. This takes place Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1:15pm.

Auto Collections at The Quad:

250 historic and antique cars make up the auto collection at The Quad. You get an audio guide with your admission price, and all the cars are for sale should you so desire! It is open daily 10am – 6pm and admission is $11.95.

Adventuredome is generally open 10am – 6pm weekdays and 10-midnight Friday and Saturday although hours do vary.

Rides vary from a carousel to 2 large rollercoasters. It is possible to buy ride tickets for single rides. The price varies from $5-10 depending on the ride.

Ferrari showroom at The Wynn:

A Maserati and Ferrari showroom inside The Wynn hotel. For around $10 you can enter the showroom and have a look at all the latest models of these two cars.

Big Apple Rollercoaster at New York New York:

The famous New York New York rollercoaster that wraps around the building and also goes through the casino.

The coaster is open Sunday – Thursday 11am – 11pm. Friday and Saturday 10:30am – Midnight. Individual tickets are $14. An all-day pass is $25. You can also get married on the coaster for $600..

Madame Tussauds:

The Las Vegas outpost of the famous waxwork museum.

Welcome sign

Welcome to Las Vegas sign:

A free attraction in Las Vegas. The famous sign is located just south of Mandalay Bay (away from the Luxor). You can walk to the sign from Mandalay Bay in about 15 minutes. There is also a car park adjacent to the sign.

Eiffel Tower at Paris:

The Eiffel Tower at the front of the Paris hotel has a viewing deck at the top. From here you can see both directions down the strip and out to the Bellagio fountains across the road. The Eiffel tower is open 9:30am – 12:30am Monday – Friday and 9:30am – 1am Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost from $10.50 for adults (with a total reward card) and $7.50 for children aged 12 and under. You also get free admission on your birthday if you show them your passport!

Wildlife habitat at Flamingo:

Another free attraction. The Wildlife habitat at the Flamingo is home to flamingos, birds, fish and turtles. It is open 8am – dusk and there are pelican feedings everyday at 8:30am and 2pm.

Mob Museum:

The well-reviewed Mob Museum is in downtown Las Vegas behind Main Street Station Casino. The museum has its own parking.  Adults are $19.95. Children 11-17 are $13.95. It is not recommended to take children under the age of 12. It is open Sunday – Thursday 10am – 7pm. Friday and Saturday 10am – 8pm.

National Atomic Testing Museum:

Educational and interesting museum about the Atomic Testing that used to take place in the Desert surrounding Las Vegas. The museum also houses an exhibition on ‘Area 51’. The museum is open Monday – Saturday 10am – 5pm and Sunday 12pm – 5pm. Prices are adults $14, or $20 with the area 51 exhibition. Children aged 7 -17 $12 or $18 with the area 51 exhibition. Children under 7 are free for the museum and $6 for the area 51 exhibition.

The museum is on Flamingo Road near to the Hard Rock hotel.

Wet N Wild Las Vegas:

If you get bored of your hotel pool you can visit Las Vegas’ waterpark Wet N Wild. It is open April – September. Some nights in high summer it remains open until 10pm. Admission is $39.99 for those 42 inches and over. $29.99 for those under 42 inches. Children under 2 are free.

Gondola Rides at the Venetian:

Ticket sales open daily at 9:30 a.m. for the indoor ride and 10:00 a.m. for the outdoor ride.
