Player’s cards:

If you intend visiting Vegas again in the future, if you are gambling large amounts of money or if you are eating at the off strip casinos or in some of the Caesar’s chain of casinos on the strip (see list below) it is worth signing up for a players card. If you gamble a lot of money it may be possible for the casino front desk or players club desk to take money off your final room bill (in order for this to happen you will have had to have booked your room directly through the hotel, alternatively charge meals and drinks to your room and then they may be deducted). This is known as ‘comping’, you do have to gamble fairly large amounts of money for this to happen, so don’t gamble to chase ‘comps’. Other perks of player’s cards if you aren’t gambling enough for comps include the hotels sending you money off offers to return to the hotel at a later date, and money off food and drinks in their restaurants. For example, Station Casinos and Caesar’s casino properties often have a lower priced menu in some of their restaurants for people who are members of their players club regardless of how much you have gambled.

Each chain of casinos has their own player’s club card which can be used in all their casinos, so you only need sign up at one location. Each players club works differently. You should get a leaflet when you sign up to explain how each club works (sometimes a free sign up gift as well, these are particularly predominant at the downtown casinos and can range from free slot play to a T shirt).
