Steve Wynn’s Encore is connected to its sister property ‘Wynn’ by an elegant shopping promenade filled designer stores.
This is also quite possibly my favourite gaming area in the city. It has one thing that is illusive in most other Las Vegas casinos – natural light. In its design Steve Wynn added floor to ceiling glass windows looking out onto the pool area, and a good part of the casino is often bathed in a warm pool of natural light. It’s a real pleasure to wile away the hours here with a cocktail on a slot machine or two.
For me the main downside of this casino is the nightclubs, now I’m young(ish), but Encore has 3 nightclubs in a relatively small space. On a Friday or Saturday night, a completely different crowd of people descend on Encore and start to queue. By 10pm, there are huge queues snaking their way around the casino floor, which isn’t very relaxing if you are gaming and is completely at odds with the ambiance of Encore the rest of the time. I assume (although I have only experienced this first hand next door at Wynn) the Encore rooms also have a noise problem on club nights as well. Apart from this however, this really is a top notch hotel casino.
As a note the guest rooms are huge, even the standard rooms are a spacey 745sqft.
