Caesars Palace

Despite being the second most famous resort hotel on the Las Vegas Strip after the Bellagio I find Caesars Palace a funny old place. Some of it is fabulous, and some of it is a little bit second rate and shoddy. This has a lot to do with the fact that it was all built over several periods of construction and as such each hotel tower, and even sections of the casino, have a distinctly different feel to them – the whole place doesn’t quite gel together. Your experience of staying in Caesars Palace could differ very much from another person checking in on the same day depending on how carefully you chose your accommodation – so buyer beware when choosing your room here! (The lesser of the room offerings are of course priced a lot lower, you shouldn’t end up in one by accident, but the oldest tower has rooms that are no better than a lot of its lower priced rivals, therefore making the entry level rooms pretty poor value for money). Having said that, Caesars does have some fantastic hotel rooms, especially in the most recently opened tower Nobu. The pool and nightlife scene certainly hold their own amongst Strip rivals. The Palace also has a massive history behind it and has featured in many TV programmes and Films over the years, including some of my favourite episodes of Friends. Hangover anyone?
