Mandalay is the big gold tower at the far south end of the Strip.
The property has recently undergone a bit of a revamp, with a new Michael Jackson Cirque Du Soleil show, and (I get excited about these things) a very funky new carpet in the casino.
They have also had a bit of a revamp with the restaurants and bars by renovating some of the old favourites and sprucing up some of the older offerings.
The pool is also fantastic – it has its own lazy river and wave pool. There are tonnes of restaurants and bars covering all budgets and cuisines, especially if you include all those in Mandalay Place, the shopping mall that connects Mandalay Bay to Luxor.
Two down points perhaps. In my opinion the hotel rooms in the main tower could do with renovating. The rooms in TheHotel are much better. This may be something they are getting round to after the other renovations, I’ll let you know.
Also, it’s a long trek up to central Strip; although this can be shortened by taking the free tram to Excalibur. However, this can also be a bonus as the public areas get less through traffic so it can be a relaxing place to retreat back to after a long day on the Strip (although check there are no events on at the huge arena if it’s peace and quiet you are after)!
